Moving to Arizona - what to expect?

So I am moving to Phoenix, Arizona and I want to know what to expect. I previously have lived in Seattle, Washington all my life, so I am sure it is much different. I know it is supposed to be really hot, so what temperature does it usually get in the summer/winter? What poisonous insects/creatures should I be informed about? Aren't there alligators and crocodiles there, and aren't they dangerous? I just want every bit of helpful information you can give me, keep in mind I have been living in Seattle and the weather is very different. I am terrified of anything poisonous, especially snakes and spiders. I am scared of spiders now and they aren't even poisonous here! Thank you!
