Why does the song "Born To Be Wild" get ociated with bikers/biker movies?

I'm doing an essay on Easy Rider and the contemporary music used in it and want to talk about the song "Born To Be Wild". I know it's a 'biker' song, but do any of you know why? Many thanks.
